![]() ![]() I am quite aware that I will have no impact on you. In closing, this reply has really troubled me, I am usually a person that would just let this go and let KARMA take its course. Marlboro is the name of a brand of cigarette, yes but, they also have a rich racing history in Formula ! (Globally), have sponsored many tennis and other sporting events, and to this day still has a hand in many outdoors activities and environmental clean-up activities here in the US as well as music and cooking events. ![]() My collection is one that has been a lot of fun, required me to learn skills I didn't have, opened up a world that didn't exist to me before, and help me teach a little world geography to my kids as we've gone along. After looking through your last 25-30 posts it seems painfully clear that you feel you are better than me on so many levels (and probably 95% of the planet) and I / we are not worthy of sharing your air. As to your reply timetraveler73, feel free to not look at my collection if it offends you so much. Thanks for backing me up ShaggyD, There is always one in every crowd. Thanks again everybody and Happy Labor day weekend to those of us in the States. Then there is the question I posted with my last picture, is this an Omega? Am I going to have to remove the back and show photos to help clear that up? On another note, at the urging of my buddy i applied to Guiness World Records to see if there is some goal to keep working towards or if maybe I have hit it already. Thanks to GirchyGirchy, drhr, Robotaz, CMSgt Bo, rfortson, and watch_hor (love that name, a little jealous.he he) for all your kind words. It has been a really cool thing for sharing with my kids about world geography as we've gone.īlack watch, I tried to post a pic in my reply but, apparently I'm not savvy enough to pull that off so, I'm going to post a few more pics in another post. As a matter of fact looking for these all over the world on eBay, I have made a couple good friends now in Germany, Sweden, the UK, and in Japan. Robotaz and eliz, Ha Ha, no I didn't smoke for all those. Which leeds me to a good question for all you guys, should I be taking the batteries out of all of these to make sure they don't leak at some point? That would probably mean taking on some kind of inventory system to be able to know which battery came from which watch. lolĬairoanan, In the beginning, I tried to keep everything running but I gave up on that after a while. THAT IS AWESOME, Ard!! and the watch is a cool story too. It holds 100 watches but I currently have it over stuffed until we can get me another one built. That's why one of my children built me this one for christmas last year (see pictures). 2) As my collection has grown I have had no luck at finding super large watch cases like mine. I have a couple things on my mind, 1) is there a better forum for someone like me to be on as far as a collection like this or am I in the right spot. Most of them are inexpensive but, through some of what I've learned by reading a lot of stuff on here that a couple of the watches I have are actually quite nice pieces. Like I said, I've been collecting these for almost 20 years and at present they number around 175. ![]() Maybe someone else on here could help point me in a better direction. I would like to see if there is a catalog somewhere that could say how many are out there and contacting Phillip Morris has been like trying to break into Fort Knox. I've looked all over the web for more information on watches offered by Phillip Morris/Marlboro. I've learned a lot about watches over all this time and I'm starting to run out of watches to find that I don't have. People I would never have met otherwise as I don't see me getting much of a chance to travel the world any time soon.lol. It's also led to making some friends in foreign places. I've also learned how to use YaHoo Japan, which is kind of their version of eBay. But, it makes for an interesting collection, most of them were under $100. I know, sounds a little crazy doesn't it. Since then I've acquired them from all over the world mostly through eBay and using Google translate to talk to these people and try to get them to ship to me here in the US. Back then it offered Swiss Army watches that I always strived to get the male and female versions of. I'm new to here and have never tried to make a thread before so if I get it wrong, go easy on me.lolįirst let me start by saying that this whole thing started back in the 80's with the now, not so politically correct, MARLBORO miles program where you saved proof of purchases from packs of cigarettes to trade in for "Gear" from a catalog. ![]()
